Date: Saturday, 10AM to 3PM
Location: Sebago Canoe Club in Jamaica bay NYC
Condition: Slighly overcast, light wind, not wave condition.
Short summary: On land lession. Leadership qualities, and skills. Chris R. presenting material. Phil give demonstration on proper VHF procedures. On water by 11 AM. I was almost last to leave the dock due to equipment malfuntion - strayskirt used was too small for boat. Paddle to Paeragut Basin Bridge, and wait for everyone to catch up. Goes under Bridge on the right side, the make a hook around righ bank sand bar, proceed to green buoy. Chris R. fake a capside while everyone was hanging about the buoy. Susan attempt with rescue. It was a mess. Too many helpful advise. Get Chris R back in his boat, and get summary of what happen.
Chris R. In the water. Way too many people hanging around the escue. I was off to the side.
We contue on after the rescue exercise from the Green Buoy to the Red Buoy. Crossing the motor boats channel in large group is always my least favorite thing. We end up bunching up to much and cant move at all.
